Overall: Artemis is described as being breathtakingly beautiful. She has the ability to change her appearance and can occasionally appear as a child. She usually takes the form of the average age of her Hunters which is a girl in her teens. Most of the time, she is seen wearing a tunic with her hair in a ponytail. Her constant companion of an arrow is seen by her side most of the time. It has been noted that Artemis and her Hunters share the trait of a silvery aura.

History: Artemis is born the eldest of Zeus and Leto's children. Hera, jealous of her mother forbid Leto to give birth anywhere on Earth or where the sun doesn't shine. After she was born, her younger brother, Apollo came into existence. When she was a child of three years old, she asked her father for a gift of a silver arrow. It was granted and that was what started her love of hunting. Zeus held a special pride for his young daughter. He even went to lengths to vow upon the River Styx that he would never force her to marry anyone.

Once Artemis became friends with a hunter named Orion. He was known for his habit of breaking women's hearts but Artemis didn't know. Apollo knew and wanted to protect his sister. His final decision was to kill Orion. While Orion was swimming, Apollo challenged Artemis shoot at the stone in the river as the rushing water flooded past. She shot and killed him. She didn't know. After she found out, she felt guilty. She went through a small period of remorse. She later began getting better. It wasn't right for a goddess to act this way. She resumed her proper role of Goddess of the Hunt and Moon.

After some experiences with dealing with men, Artemis swore them off. Anyone who became her Hunters would to. After that, few men are able to earn her respect. Percy Jackson was one of them. His willingness to lay his life down for his friends was what earned it. When the Olympians called for a vote to destroy Percy or not, Artemis chose to not destroy him. She later must fight against Typhon with the help of the other gods. It was a hard battle and did not end until Poseidon and Percy come to help. In the end, Typhon was defeated. Several of her Hunters had fallen during the battle. She convinced Hades to send her Hunters to Elysium, a place for people who died as heroes.
