Attention Seeker [[THANATOS]]

[Hermes]

It wasn't like Hermes was just hanging around the Underworld waiting for Hades to have a free moment. It was definitely nothing like that. Hermes just had quite a bit of downtime because he'd invested in a tablet to help him sort his mail and organize deliveries. And he was definitely not hanging around to see if Hades would sense his presence or anything like that. No sir. He just enjoyed sitting dangerously close to the River Lethe, periodically tapping his tablet with the stylus.

Okay, so maybe Hermes kind of wanted his uncle's attention. But he knew that just appearing in Hades' castle was asking for trouble so instead the blond took to lounging about the various dangerous rivers of the Underworld. It was the best way to let people (gods and demigods) know he wanted attention. Otherwise he would have stayed at Camp Olympus.

Hermes sighed and flopped over onto his stomach, his feet toward the river, his tablet at his face. He absently tapped around, watching George and Martha's electronic selves fly around the screen, doing his dirty work. The snakes seemed to be in their element though, even if occasionally hissing and fighting came from the tablet's small speakers.

"Stop fighting," Hermes scolded them, dragging Martha's mouth away from George's middle with his stylus. "Honestly." He let out a long, over dramatic sigh and shook his head, letting Martha go. "Stupid snakes," Hermes mumbled affectionately, absently swinging his feet in the air behind him.

It was a normal day for the god of death. Making sure souls stayed in the underworld, guiding souls to the underworld. The more he though about it the more he realized that he needed to spend some more time away from the underworld. He could control everything basically from his tablet which made his job so much easier, however he was still just as busy as he had ever been. The dead never took a day off so neither could he. Not that the god minded his job. In fact he quite liked the idea of being busy but he did wish he could spend more time with say family or something. Maybe visit that new demigod camp but there was never time for that. The god looked down at the tablet once more moving some names around and dealing with one very persistent soul trying to escape.

Thanatos walked along the River Lethe as he worked. He was heading back to the underworld to report back to Hades as he did ever day. He was Hades Lieutenant and the reaper of souls, so reporting was part of the job he also didn't mind Hades. Then again Thanatos came from a very misunderstood family so he did understand the god of the underworld fairly well. The god looked up from his tablet at the sound of someone speaking. Who would be at the river. His brother didn't speak very loudly and he wasn't even in the area. That was when the god of death noticed the messenger god.   

"Look, scolding the snakes is not going to get them to work together. You know that" Thanatos teased after hearing what Hermes was saying to his helpers. He liked to tease the god. "Still seeking Hades attention I see" Thanatos teased more. He looked over the god shaking his head. "Get away from the edge before you fall in though" there was a hint of concern in his voice, masked by annoyance.

[Hermes]

Hermes looked up from his tablet, confusion on his face at the voice. It wasn't the voice of the Lord of the Underworld, that was one thing Hermes knew for sure. The sound of the unanticipated voice caused Hermes' heart to sink, though he didn't let that show on his face. That wasn't polite.

"Look, scolding the snakes is not going to get them to work together. You know that"

Hermes beamed when he realized, though, it was the God of Death, Thanatos. Hermes ran a hand through his hair and quickly locked his tablet, hoping that would shut George and Martha up. "Well," Hermes replied slowly. "You never know with these two. Maybe one day they'll stop fighting constantly." Hermes couldn't help but chuckle at that, rubbing the edge of his tablet affectionately. "But if they didn't fight, it'd be pretty boring around here."

Even if he wasn't Hades, Hermes was pleased to see Thanatos. The Death God always cheered Hermes up or improved his good mood to a great one. It was a little odd for Hermes to like the Death God, but Hermes was always a little odd. His darker relatives gave him comfort. They always treated him the best, even if it was just to get discounts on packages to the Underworld.

"Still seeking Hades attention I see"

That drew the messenger god out of his thoughts and he would bet thirty drachma that his face flushed. "Wh-what?" Hermes stuttered before beaming. He could feel the blush blazing across his face, but he beamed anyway. "Don't be an idiot," Hermes chided warmly. "I just enjoy sitting by this beautiful river my uncle has here." Hermes looked back to the river Lethe, watching the milky water rush about as if it had better things to do than entertain his need for Hades' attention. Not that he wanted it or anything. When Thanatos told him to get away from the edge, Hermes scoffed. "Please," he said in a cocky tone, "I can fly. I'll be fine right here." As if to punctuate his statement, he wiggled a bit and smiled. "So, Thanatos, what brings you here?"
