"At the end of the day you're another day colder
And the shirt on your back doesn't keep out the chill
And the righteous hurry past
They don't hear the little ones crying
And the winter is coming on fast, ready to kill
One day nearer to dying!"

parentage
↳godly parent ⇋ Hecate, Goddess of crossroads, entrance-ways, fire, light, the Moon, magic, witchcraft, necromancy, and sorcery with a strong knowledge of herbs and poisonous plants.
mortal parent ⇋ Alexander Hargrave
personality ⇉ Ambitious, considerate, loyal, mature (for the most part), realist but also stubborn, flirty, a little resentful sometimes, very guarded about certain aspects of her life, a little selfish sometimes (but what teens aren’t? xD) and apathetic.
In a more explained way, Kalli is smart, witty (though sometimes considered snarky) and quick on her feet. She loves everything having to do with the magical world though most of her 'obsessive' tendencies involve vampires, dragons, faeries and things as such (ie - more seen as mythological characters). Her ‘obsessions’ have only seemed to grow ten-fold since she discovered that she was one of those “mythological creatures” (i.e. a demigod). She has a fierce temper when she is angry or annoyed with something or someone. She's not too trustworthy of people that she doesn't consider 'friends', though her attitude towards those she considers to be her 'enemies' is considered a bit 'snarky' most of the time. While gaining her friendship and trust is not an entirely hard thing to do, once you betray her or lose that trust it is very likely you will never win it back.
history
↳ Much like the children of Athena, the children of Hecate are not truly born so much as they are created, and this is how Kassandra was ‘born’. When Alexander opened the door the stormy morning of October 22, he found the little girl in a small black bundle that seemed to be crackling with a bluish, purple energy. He and his wife raised her as their own in their small two bedroom apartment until Cynthia met her demise in the form of a brain tumor when Kassandra was seven years old. A few years later, when she was ten, her father remarried a woman that Kassi could not stand, though the feeling was mutual. Her step-mother, Melanie, hated her for two reasons: Kassi represented the remnants of Alexander's past love that he would never truly get over, and because she was so much different than most children, ‘bad things happened around her’. Melanie brought two daughters of her own from her previous husband who had divorced her; both girls were thirteen years old at the time.
With the formation of her “new family”, Kassi's step-mother did whatever she could to exclude the young girl from any of the family activities, though despite Melanie’s attempts, Alexander always did what he could to make sure that his daughter felt a part of the family; she was his treasure, his pride and joy. Alexander was the head of the Anthropology department at Princeton, specifying in occult studies (now, Kassi often suspects that her father specified in the occult because her mother was the goddess of witchcraft), until he (much like Melanie’s last husband) suddenly died. Kassi was only fourteen, but she immediately suspected that her father was poisoned by her step-mother in order to gain access to her father’s pension and life insurance, as well as have access over Kassi’s college funds. Her father had been saving money for the girl to go to college since she was a little girl and had over two hundred thousand dollars saved for her tuition and fees. Kassi continued to live with her step-mother and step-sisters for close to two months before she just couldn’t take it any longer; she felt like a modern day Cinderella, only without ever finding her “Prince Charming”.
Having no money of her own to use, Kassandra dressed in her step-mother's best clothes as well as her perfume and large sunglasses to cover her face for the most part and headed for the bank. The only way to get access to her college funds was to pose as her step-mother and forge the woman's signature on a few documents. At least then she would have a little bit to figure out just what she was going to do to steady herself and support herself. Though problems came quickly when she found that her step-mother had already drained the account of almost all of it's funds – leaving only three hundred dollars for her to use. She took the remaining money and officially left home, completely unaware of the dangers that lied out in the world for a demigod choosing to live on their own.
Having been on her own for a little over a year, the then-sixteen year old did her best to stave off what monsters that attacked her the best she could, she finally met one monster that she couldn’t defeat on her own. After setting the monster on fire (she wasn't really sure how exactly she did it), she found herself knocked backwards and burned fairly badly. Just before she passed out, she looked up to see something that seemed half man, half goat hovering over her - saving her. She woke up a few days later in a camp, surrounded by people she didn't know, and yet oddly for the first time in over a year she finally felt safe - at home. Shortly after her arrival at camp, she found a neon purple crescent moon glowing and crackling over her head and the deep, booming voice of Chiron telling her that she was a child of Hecate.
powers
↳ Since her mother is the goddess of witchcraft, she has the power to control the elements (earth, air, wind, fire, water) though her strength is in the element of fire. Despite having the ability to control the elements, doing so drains her of all her energy, making her extremely tired. This 'drainage' problem was the reason that she was so badly burned when the satyr brought her to the safety of the new camp.

Standing at the altar with her soon to be step sister, she groaned inwardly when the brides flowers were thrust into her hands by the maid of honor. Rolling her eyes a little, she took a chance in glancing out into the audience and let herself fully drink in the image of the man she had been crushing on since her first year at Hogwarts. He was sitting quietly in his seat, watching as the two people standing before the altar as the two confirmed their love for each other by marriage. Taking the fact that he was distracted into account, she quickly looked over his outfit thinking how truly amazing he looked; though she told herself that he always looked amazing to her before she turned her attention back to the wedding. She remembered after her oldest brother got married that someone had asked her why there were no vows of any kind exchanged and, at the time, she hadn't really known. Later that night when she asked her brother he had told her that when a Greek couple got married, they didn't exchange vows because the marriage wasn't thought to be a contract forcing two people to say "legally" to each other that they will stay together - it's meant to be a celebration of two people in love who already intend to be together forever. Quickly glancing away from Cedric before he could catch her watching him, she turned her attention back up to the two getting married.
Clapping the best that she could with two bouquets in her hands, both her own as well as her sister-in-laws, she felt a smile crawl onto her lips when the bride and groom finally kissed after the ceremony and a loud eruption of applauses, whistles, and shouts came from most of the people sitting in the audience. What more could you expect from a wedding mostly filled with Greek people? Laughing softly to herself, she watched as her cousins immediately made their way to the altar and picked up the bride and groom and hoisted them onto their shoulders, shouting praises and more as everything magically changed into props and arrangements for the wedding reception. Setting both bouquets down carefully, she soon found her wrist being pulled on as Saoul pulled her into the circle that was forming around her brother and new sister-in-law who were seated on chairs and in the air. “No, no, no, no..” she said with a soft laugh as she tried to keep up with her cousin without tripping over the steep heels that were clinging to her feet like a death trap.
A little while later, she was finally able to go rest as the Kaslamantiano dance with the bride and groom finished. Letting out a heavy sigh, she collapsed into a chair after handing the bride her flowers to throw to the rest of the women. She didn’t even bother to get into the crowd of women gazing at the bouquet like lionesses watching their prey. Looking up as one of her cousins collapsed into a chair beside her, she laughed as he said something about the women looking like vicious vipers. She had close to thirty cousins alone considering that her mother had had six siblings and her father had had four, though out of all of them Saoul was the one that she was closest to. What could she say? The Greeks liked to do everything big, including their families. Elena’s family was actually one of the smallest in her family tree, only have four children: her three older brothers and herself. All of her brothers had graduated Hogwarts though two of the boys had been in Hufflepuff and Erik, he had only graduated last year, had been in Gryffindor while she herself was in Ravenclaw. Their parents had been so happy that they had a child in every house with the exception of Slytherin, which they didn‘t want any of their children there.
Tearing herself from her thoughts of her parents, she apologized to her cousin who had snapped his fingers in front of her face and then laughed when she came from her daze. “I’m sorry, what were you saying?” she asked with a smile. “I was asking if you wanted to dance,” he said with a smirk as he stood. Nodding with a slight shrug she stood, though she had kicked off her heels so she was a few inches shorter now, and moved out onto the dance floor with him, joining several people who were surrounding the newly wedded couple to dance with a slow dance that had began. After a while, she said something about wanting to sit down as she saw him watching a girl who was standing alone on the other side of the dance hall. Suggesting that he should go ask the girl he had been watching to dance, he shook his head with a smirk. “Am I that obvious?” he asked with a smirk before she nodded and pushed him away, moving to sit down once again. She had been sitting down for less than sixty seconds before an elderly woman, whom she recognized as the brides mother, came over to talk to her. She began grilling the younger woman as to if she had anyone special or something like that. ‘Great,’ she thought to herself, ‘The old woman wants me to get married at fifteen, like my mother. Shaking her head with a soft smile to the woman’s questions, it took everything she had not to roll her eyes.
Smiling at the woman she had been talking to after a few minutes, she let the smile fall from her lips as the older woman left to go dance with her own husband. Standing from her seat, she fled from where she had been sitting to escape any other questions in case the woman decided to come back, though she left her shoes under the chair so that she could wander around barefoot; the bride would get over it. Moving over towards the table containing the entrée’s, she picked up a plate and placed a few items on the plate before moving away from the table to eat, though she didn’t dare go back to her seat. Lifting some of the food to her lips, she turned back around towards the dance floor, watching everyone dancing and having a great time.
Inwardly, she scolded herself for not having more fun at the wedding until she watched as some of the guys passing her continued to ravage her body with their eyes, as if she didn't notice. "This is going to be a long night..." she muttered to herself with a heavy sigh. The last time a member of her family had gotten married, the wedding reception had lasted for two full days and she hadn't minded, though at the time, she hadn't yet grown into her body as she had done now. "Long receptions are a part of being Greek, Elena." she could remember her brother saying to her when she had asked why the reception had lasted so long. "Then again," she muttered softly to herself, "that wedding had actually been in Greece."
Leaning lightly against the table that contained the many desserts, she realized after a few minutes of eating that she needed a drink and her champagne glass that Saoul had gotten her was both empty and out of her reach. Moving away from the table, she left to get another glass when suddenly the inevitable happened. Pausing in her steps, she looked up into the dark brown eyes of one of the men who had been ogling her body. After a few minutes of conversation with the man, she was itching to get away though she couldn’t because she knew he would end up following her. Where was Saoul when she needed him? At the suggestion of a few very provocative things the man had apparently wanted to do with her, she raised an eyebrow looking at him. “You do know I’m fourteen, right?” she asked with a light scoff. The man had only responded with saying he wouldn’t tell anyone if she wouldn’t and she almost slapped him until she heard a familiar, smooth voice coming to her rescue. Looking over at Cedric, she couldn’t help it as a sigh of relief escaped her lips. Watching the older man leave, she turned her attention back to Cedric and almost lost herself in his eyes but quickly caught her composure when she realized he was actually talking to her. Catching the last of what he had said to her, she filled in the blanks and nodded lightly. “Yeah. I’m alright. He may have been a creep but you saved that guy from a black eye and a few missing body parts,” she commented with a smirk on her lips. In the light that she was standing in, her lips seemed shinier than normal considering the lip gloss and make-up she had been forced to wear, though she had no idea that the make up was one reason the guys seemed to be noticing her more as well. “How are you enjoying the wedding festivities?” she asked with a small laugh, referring to the party and everything else as another song filtered through the speakers. She was assuming that he had never actually been to a Greek wedding, though for all she knew he could have.
